1.For
those youngsters who are not suited for or interested in
some of the mainstream ot team sports or, an opportunity
to participate in a highly individual sport where you determine
what risks you are willing to take.
A sport that is exhilarating and exciting in its performance,
no matter how skilled you are.
Daily challenges in the sense that you decide how and when
to catapult your body into the air, unlike most other sports.
One of the highest skill development sports, along with
gymnasics and figure skating.
2. What benefits should parents realistically expect from
enrolling their children in diving?
Increase in self-confidence and image by overcoming the
challenges on a daily basis.
Improved physical development through a sport that requires
total body movement in all dives.
Increased self-discipline through having to make yourself
do the dives, sometimes when you really don't want to.
Learning a new dive gives you a high sense of accomplishment
and satisfaction.
Improved ability to take and follow instructions (very helpful
in school).
Greater sense of dedication by coming to practice on a daily
basis.
If the child has reasonable ability and sticks with the
sport through high school, a good possibility of a college
scholarship.
