2009 Spring Regional / East and West Memorandum

Re: General Info for Spring Junior Regional and Spring Junior East/West National Championships

1.. Divers may compete in ONE Spring Junior Region Championship only.


2. The entry fee for the Spring Junior Regional Championships is $30 per event. Entry forms, Fees, and Dive Sheets are to
be submitted directly online to divemeets.com. Entries received after 6 a.m. 2 days before the competition starts, will be
assessed a one-time $30 penalty fee payable to the meet host. Late entries must be made at the meet site. ONCE A
DIVER SUBMITS AN ENTRY FOR AN EVENT, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.


3. The top six (6) finishers in 11&U, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 springboard events at the Spring Junior Region I, II, III, IV,
and VII Championships who are U.S. citizens shall qualify in that event only for the East Junior Championships. No
diver who fails two or more dives may advance to the Spring East Junior National Championships.


4. The top six (6) finishers in 11&U, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 springboard events at the Spring Junior Region V, VI, VIII,
IX, and X Championships who are U.S. citizens shall qualify in that event only for the West Junior Championships. No
diver who fails two or more dives may advance to the Spring West Junior National Championships.


5. Should one of the qualifiers from a Spring Junior Regional Championship be unable to participate in the East/West
Junior Championships, the meet director of that Regional meet shall contact the next eligible diver in order of finish in
that event. No diver who finishes below 12th place shall be eligible. This could include divers who choose not to
advance to the Spring Junior East/West National Championships, injured divers, foreign divers who are registered with
USA Diving and divers who will turn 19 before the Spring Junior East/West National Championships.


6. Divers that qualify for the East and West Junior Championships should register online at www.divemeets.com by 6 a.m.
(local meet time) 48 hours before 6 a.m. the first day of competition. No paper entries will be accepted.
After the registration has closed on divemeets.com, entries can only be made on-deck and will be assessed a one-time
late registration fee of $30 payable to the meet host in addition to the regular event entry fees ($30/event). ONCE A
DIVER SUBMITS AN ENTRY FOR AN EVENT, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
**REGIONAL MEET DIRECTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FORWARDING ALL QUALIFIED DIVERS
REGISTRATION FORMS TO THE EAST/WEST JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, UNLESS DIVEMEETS.COM
IS BEING USED TO RUN THE MEET.**


7. Throughout the year a diver MUST dive in his or her FINA-defined age group (i.e. his or her age on Dec. 31 of that
year). A diver may continue to dive as a 16-18 year-old until he or she celebrates his or her 19th birthday.
8. Competition in each age group will be conducted in accordance with Articles 22, 24, and 26 in USA Diving’s 2008-2009
Rule Book. Divers should refer to the rules pertaining to the order of dives, DD requirements, and lists of permissible
dives for each age group.


9. The deadline for diving sheets is 6 p.m. on the day prior to the scheduled start of the first event and noon on
subsequent days at Regional Championships and at the East and West Junior National Championships. A fee of
$15 per sheet may be assessed for those not meeting the sheet submission deadline. A diver may make a change to their
diving list (dive number, position, or order) at any time prior to three hours before the start of the competition with a $15
penalty fee. No dive sheet shall be accepted or changed with less than three hours before the competition. It remains the
diver’s responsibility to conform to the competition parameters, such as degree of difficulty limits or minimums, and to
satisfy dive group requirements.


10. EACH DIVER MUST HAVE IN THEIR POSSESSION A CURRENT USA DIVING REGISTRATION
NUMBER. COACHES MUST BE ON THE WEBSITE LIST OF CURRENT USA DIVING COACH
MEMBERS TO BE ON THE POOL DECK. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY – IF
UNREGISTERED DIVERS OR COACHES ARE ALLOWED ON DECK, ALL INSURANCE COVERAGE IS
REVOKED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
